On most LG ovens, error code
F9 means the oven is
not heating fast enough and fails to reach approximately
150°F within 5 minutes during preheating. This usually points to a heating or control-related issue rather than a simple software glitch.
Common causes include:- A failing relay or control board (one of the most common reasons)
- A faulty temperature sensor (thermistor) sending incorrect readings
- Weak or damaged bake or broil heating elements
- Burned or loose wiring, especially near the control board or heating circuits
- Power interruptions or voltage issues that affect electronic components
A quick power reset may temporarily clear the error, but if F9 returns, professional diagnostics are recommended. Continued operation without proper repair can lead to further electrical damage or unsafe heating behavior.
