Dacor Appliance Repair in Los Angeles

Dacor is about as LA as an appliance brand gets. Started in Pasadena back in 1965, headquartered out in City of Industry until 2021, which probably explains why so many kitchens here have one. Mostly we get called for wall ovens. After that it's pro ranges, induction cooktops, column fridges, dishwashers, warming drawers. Old Renaissance and Discovery ovens, newer Modernist and Heritage, we work on all of them. Since 2016 Dacor has been owned by Samsung.

Call before 11 and we can often get out the same day for the diagnostic. Dacor parts aren't always on a local shelf, especially oven boards and touch panels, so a lot of Dacor jobs take two visits: find it, order it, come back and put it in. You'll know the wait before you agree to anything.

How We Diagnose Dacor Appliances

Most of our Dacor calls are wall ovens, and most of those throw a code. The codes aren't identical across every Dacor generation, so we go by the model, but on many of them F2 means the oven ran hotter than it should and F3 means the temperature sensor reads shorted. F2 plus an oven that keeps heating after you hit Cancel? Breaker off. That's usually a relay stuck closed on the board.

We don't jump to the board, though. Sensor and harness first, then the connector at the back of the cavity, then the door switch. A Dacor oven can look completely dead because of one scorched connector, or because the door sagged a couple of millimeters and stopped pressing its switch. Gas ranges, same idea: a burner that clicks but won't light is usually wet, dirty, or has a cracked igniter. The spark module comes later.

Dacor Appliances We Repair

Dacor Wall Oven Repair

Dacor wall oven repair
Single, double, combination. Convection, steam-assisted. Renaissance, Discovery, Modernist, Heritage, whatever's in your wall.

What we fix most often:
  • Oven not heating, or heating unevenly
  • F-code on the display
  • Convection fan loud or not spinning
  • Door stuck locked after self-clean
  • Touch panel or display not responding
  • Steam function not making steam
Steam ovens and LA tap water don't get along. If the steam quits or the oven starts throwing humidity errors, scale is a likely suspect, so keep up with descaling. It's cheaper than a visit.

Dacor Range, Rangetop and Cooktop Repair

Dacor range and cooktop repair
Dual-fuel and all-gas pro ranges, rangetops, gas and induction cooktops.

Common problems:
  • Burner clicking nonstop
  • Burner won't light, or lights and goes out
  • Low or uneven flame
  • Induction zone not detecting the pan
  • Range oven not heating
  • Knob or control panel not responding
Burner started clicking right after you wiped down the cooktop, or after a pot boiled over? Probably just water in the igniter or under the cap. Leave it a few hours, check that the cap's sitting flat, and try again before booking.

Dacor Refrigerator and Wine Cooler Repair

Dacor refrigerator and wine cooler repair
Column fridges and freezers, built-in and panel-ready units, Dacor wine coolers.

Common problems:
  • Fridge warm, or the temperature keeps swinging
  • Ice maker not making ice
  • Water inside or under the unit
  • Frost on the back wall
  • Wine cooler not holding temperature
  • Fan or compressor that never shuts off
Built-in and column units breathe through a grille at the top or bottom. When that's packed with dust, the unit runs hot and runs long, so the condenser is one of the first things we look at.

Dacor Dishwasher and Warming Drawer Repair

Dacor dishwasher and warming drawer repair
Dacor dishwashers, plus warming drawers and the built-in microwaves that go with Dacor kitchens.

Common problems:
  • Water left in the bottom
  • Dishes not clean, or not drying
  • Leak at the door
  • Error on the display, cycle won't finish
  • Warming drawer not heating
  • Drawer not sliding or closing right
Panel-ready Dacor dishwashers hide everything behind the cabinet door, controls included. When one stops mid-cycle, cleaning the filter is still step one.

What the $65 Dacor Diagnostic Includes

Dacor appliance diagnostic in Los Angeles
The diagnostic visit is $65. During the visit we:
  • Read the error code and check it against your model
  • Measure oven temperature against the setting
  • Test sensors, elements, igniters, fans and door locks with a meter
  • Check fridge temperatures, airflow, defrost and the condenser
  • Look at the dishwasher's fill, drain and filters
  • Tell you what failed, whether the part's available, and what it costs, in writing
If you approve the repair, the $65 goes toward the total. If you decide not to repair, you pay only the diagnostic.

We won't quote a repair price over the phone. Until the part's tested, nobody actually knows what failed, and the price depends on that and on the model.

Older Dacor Appliances: Repair or Replace?

Sensors, igniters, elements, fan motors, door locks: on a Dacor, replace them and move on. You paid real money for that oven, and the cabinet was probably built around it.

The tougher spot is an older wall oven that needs a board or display nobody makes anymore, or a fridge with a sealed-system failure. We find out what's actually available, then give you the numbers. Your call from there.

Dacor Repair FAQ

Is Appliance Insight an authorized Dacor service provider?

No. We're independent. Dacor and Samsung haven't authorized us, and we're not affiliated with either. Still under warranty? Call Dacor first.

What does F2 mean on my Dacor oven?

On a lot of Dacor wall ovens, F2 is an over-temperature shutdown: the oven got too hot and cut the heat. If it's still heating after you press Cancel, kill it at the breaker. Usually that's a relay stuck on the control board. Sometimes it's the sensor giving a bad reading.

My Dacor burner keeps clicking. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. Most of the time it's moisture from a spill or from cleaning. Let it dry out, check the cap, try again. If it keeps clicking, we test the igniter, the wiring and the spark module.

How much is the diagnostic?

$65, and it comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair. You get a written estimate before any work begins.

Do you work on older Dacor models?

Sure, Renaissance and Discovery ovens too. A few of their boards and displays are discontinued, so we look up parts right away and tell you before you've spent anything past the diagnostic.

Can you repair my Dacor the same day?

If you call before 11 AM, we can often do the diagnostic that day. Dacor parts tend to be special order, though, so plan on a second visit to install once the part arrives.
