KitchenAid Appliance Repair in Los Angeles

KitchenAid built-in fridge running warm? Dishwasher leaving everything wet? We fix those, plus KitchenAid wall ovens, ranges and cooktops, all over LA. Panel-ready and built-in stuff too, the kind nobody wants to rip out. It's a Whirlpool brand underneath, which helps a lot when it comes to finding parts.
Technician running a dishwasher diagnostic in a Los Angeles kitchen

Call before 11 and we can often come the same day. Fans, igniters, sensors, pumps and ice maker parts for KitchenAid usually aren't hard to get. Built-in and commercial-style parts sometimes take a few days. We'll tell you which before you say yes.

How We Diagnose KitchenAid Appliances

With KitchenAid, the trouble tends to show up in two places: fridges and dishwashers. On a built-in fridge we check airflow before anything else. Dust on the condenser, a fan that's getting lazy, and suddenly the whole box is running warm. KitchenAid's own advice is a condenser cleaning every six months if you've got pets or a dusty house.

A dishwasher that won't dry is usually fine, honestly. Rinse aid's low, the tap water's lukewarm, or someone keeps hitting the quick cycle. But if the tub's not even warm after a heated dry, now we're talking heater or drying system, and we'll test it. Ovens are simpler. They throw a code, and on most KitchenAid wall ovens F3 means the temp sensor circuit.

KitchenAid Appliances We Repair

KitchenAid Refrigerator Repair (Built-In and Freestanding)

KitchenAid built-in refrigerator repair
Built-ins (side-by-side and French door), counter-depth, regular French-door and bottom-freezer models, plus the undercounter fridges and beverage centers.

What we fix most often:
  • Fridge warm, freezer fine, or both warming up
  • Ice maker not making ice, or the fill tube frozen
  • Water leaking under the crisper drawers
  • Dispenser not working
  • Compressor running all the time
  • Loud fan, clicking or rattling
Built-ins cost a lot more to replace than to fix, since a new one has to fit the same cabinet opening and take the same panels. That changes the repair math in your favor.

KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair

KitchenAid dishwasher repair
Built-in and panel-ready KitchenAid dishwashers, including models with the FreeFlex third rack and ProWash cycle.

Common problems:
  • Dishes coming out wet
  • Water sitting in the bottom
  • Dishes gritty or cloudy
  • Clean light flashing, cycle won't finish
  • Leak at the door or underneath
  • Door won't latch
Before you call about wet dishes: bump the rinse aid up a step, run the hot water at the sink first, and use heated dry. Plastic will always come out a little damp. If glass and plates are still dripping, that's when we come out.

KitchenAid Wall Oven and Range Repair

KitchenAid wall oven repair
Single and double wall ovens, oven and microwave combos, slide-in and freestanding ranges, and commercial-style gas and dual fuel ranges.

Common problems:
  • F3 code: oven temperature sensor or its wiring
  • Oven slow to heat or won't heat
  • Convection fan not running
  • Temperature off from the setting
  • Door stuck locked after self-clean
  • Control panel dead or not responding
Wall ovens have to fit the cutout they're in, so even an older one is often worth fixing rather than replacing.

KitchenAid Cooktop and Downdraft Repair

KitchenAid cooktop repair
Gas, electric and induction KitchenAid cooktops, plus downdraft vent systems.

Common problems:
  • Gas burner clicking nonstop or not lighting
  • Electric element stuck on high or not heating
  • Induction zone not detecting the pan
  • Cracked glass top
  • Downdraft not rising or the fan not running
  • Touch controls locked or unresponsive
Burner clicking away after something boiled over? It's probably just wet. Give it a day to dry out before you call.

Other KitchenAid Appliances

Why KitchenAid Owners Call Appliance Insight

• We rule out the easy stuff first: rinse aid, filters, a dusty condenser, a tripped breaker
• You talk to the technician doing the work
• $65 diagnostic, applied toward the repair if you go ahead
• Written estimate before any work starts
• Parts matched to your full model number
• Shoe covers and floor protection
• Licensed in California, License A 50129
• 183-day warranty on parts and labor for completed repairs

Have the model number handy. On KitchenAid fridges it's usually on the side wall inside the fresh-food section. On dishwashers, check the edge of the door or the tub. On wall ovens, look around the frame with the door open.

What the $65 KitchenAid Diagnostic Includes

The diagnostic visit is $65. During the visit we:
  • Read the fault code, or run the service test mode where the model has one
  • Check fridge temperatures, condenser airflow, fans and defrost
  • Check the dishwasher filter, drain, heater and rinse aid dispenser
  • Measure oven temperature against the setting
  • Test elements, igniters, sensors and switches with a meter
  • Explain what failed and give you a written repair estimate
If you approve the repair, the $65 goes toward the total. If you decide not to repair, you pay only the diagnostic.

We don't quote repair prices over the phone. The cost depends on the failed part and the model, and that only becomes clear after testing.

Older KitchenAid Appliances: Repair or Replace?

Built-ins are where fixing a KitchenAid really pays off. The new one has to match the hole in your cabinets, maybe the panels too, and that gets pricey quick. Fan, board, ice maker, sensor, igniter: fix it.

Freestanding stuff, it depends. Sealed system dies on an older freestanding fridge, or a dishwasher tub cracks? Might not be worth it. We'll give you a straight answer after the diagnostic.

KitchenAid Repair FAQ

Is Appliance Insight an authorized KitchenAid service provider?

No. We are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with or authorized by KitchenAid or Whirlpool Corporation. If your appliance is still under the KitchenAid warranty, contact KitchenAid first.

Why is my KitchenAid built-in refrigerator running warm?

Check airflow first. Dust on the condenser or a slow fan will warm up the whole fridge, and a frosted-over evaporator chokes off the fresh-food side. KitchenAid says clean the condenser every six months if there are pets or lots of dust around. Didn't help? Then we test the fans, the defrost parts and the control.

Why are my KitchenAid dishes still wet?

Usually rinse aid, a quick or eco cycle, or lukewarm water coming in. Turn the rinse aid up a notch, pick heated dry, and run the kitchen tap till it's hot before you start. Tub still cool at the end of a heated dry? Then the heater or the drying system may be out.

How much is the diagnostic?

$65. If you approve the repair, it's applied toward the total. You get a written estimate before any work begins.

Do you repair KitchenAid commercial-style ranges?

Yes. We work on KitchenAid commercial-style gas and dual fuel ranges, including burners, igniters, oven sensors and convection fans.

Can you repair my KitchenAid the same day?

Same-day diagnostics are often possible if you call before 11 AM. Simple fixes can sometimes be done on the first visit. Parts that aren't available locally are ordered after the diagnostic, and we schedule the repair when they arrive.
